Seton Hill hosted fourth seed Wheeling in the Great Midwest Conference Semifinal on Wednesday afternoon in Greensburg.
Just like the regular season, the Griffins continued to dominate their conference foes as they advanced to the finals with a 29-4 victory over the Cards. SHU is now 16-1 overall. Â
The Griffins were consistent in their scoring as they scored eight goals in each of the first three quarters. Â
Holden Charboneau got the Griffins on the board just over two minutes into the contest.Â
Braedan Lockyer and
Benjamin Rohan scored less than a minute apart as SHU took a 3-0 lead with 8:33 left. Wheeling got their first before the Griffins scored three times in less than two minutes to take a 6-1 lead.Â
Wade Brunelle,
Michael Coleman and
Gavin Erickson scored the SHU goals. After a Wheeling goal, Charboneau and Coleman scored with less than a minute to play to give SHU an 8-2 lead. Â
The Griffins scored all eight goals in the second quarter.Â
Carter Li had a pair with
Colin Socker, Erickson,
Carter Green,
Riley Grudi, Lockyer and
Andrew Mathieu scoring single goals as the Griffins took a 16-2 halftime lead. Â
The third quarter was another 8-0 quarter for the Griffins. Eight different Griffins scored in the quarter including
Justin Dian, Brunelle, Coleman, Erickson, Li,
Cullen Kerchner,
Noah Radle and Liam Bergen. Â
Eliot Schratz had a pair of goals for the Griffins in the fourth. Radle,
Ayden Naranjo and
Ethan Smith added the others. Â
The Griffins finished with 83 shots to 23 for Wheeling. Shots on goal were 48-15. SHU won 32 of the 36 faceoffs.Â
Li led the Griffins with 3 goals and 2 assists. Brunelle had 2 goals and 3 assists. Erickson and Coleman each added 3 goals and an assist.Â
Will Cody made 6 saves.Â

SHU will host the G-MAC final on Saturday when they host Walsh at noon. Â
