The Griffins hosted UIndy in a matchup between two of the top 20 ranked teams in the country as the #9 Griffins hosted the #16 Greyhounds on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins pulled away with a 6-0 third quarter as they defeated UIndy 15-5. SHU is now 4-1 on the season while UIndy falls to 3-4.
SHU took an early 2-0 lead with a pair of goals 34 seconds apart.
Wade Brunelle opened the scoring and
Connor Zostant made it 2-0 with 12:24 to play. Later in the quarter,
Carter Green and Zostant scored a minute apart as SHU built a 4-0 lead with 7:36 left. Indy scored a late goal to cut the lead to 4-1 after one quarter.
The Griffins scored a man up goal 11 seconds into the second quarter from Brunelle as they led 5-1. With 11 minutes to play,
Kaden Granberg scored to put the Griffins in front 6-1. UIndy scored the final two goals of the half and cut the Griffins lead to 6-3 at the half.
The third quarter was all Seton Hill as they outscored the Greyhounds 6-0. Brunelle scored four goals in the quarter.
Braedan Lockyer added the other two goals.
Seton Hill scored three times in the fourth quarter to close out the game.
Riley Grudi opened the scoring in the quarter and Brunelle and Granberg closed out the scoring.
Brunelle led the Griffins with 7 goals and 2 assists. Lockyer added 2 goals and 3 assists. Zostant and Granberg added two goals. Green finished with a goal and 2 assists.
