Seton Hill closed out their four game PSAC West set with a doubleheader at Lock Haven on Saturday afternoon.
Seton Hill opened the doubleheader with a 5-2 win in game one. The Griffins completed the sweep of the Bald Eagles with a 9-1 win in game two. SHU is now 20-5 overall and 6-2 in the west.
The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one.
Owen Henne and
Owen Mandler singled and Henne later scored on a double steal. Lock Haven tied the game at one with an unearned run in the bottom of the first inning.
SHU took the lead back in the second.
Mark Black doubled to lead off the inning.
Joe Fiedor singled to score Black. Fiedor later scored on a sacrifice fly from Henne.
Colin Ahr singled in
Jakob Haynes who singled as the Griffins extended their lead to 4-1 in the third.
Haynes homered to lead off the fifth for the Griffins.
Haynes and Ahr each had two hits for the Griffins.
Ian Korn earned his sixth win. He did not allow an earned run in 5.2 innings of work.
Christian Zilli earned the save.
In game two,
Jack Whalen reached on an error and scored on an
Owen Mandler sacrifice fly as SHU took a 1-0 lead. Lock Haven tied the score in the second.
The Griffins retook the lead in the third as Whalen doubled and scored on a wild pitch. SHU added two more in the fourth. Fiedor singled and stole second and scored on an
Austyn Winkleblech single. Winkleblech then scored on a Whalen sacrifice fly as SHU took a 4-1 lead.
Seton Hill added on in the fifth.
Owen Mandler doubled and scored on a Haynes RBI single. With two outs, Fiedor tripled to drive in Haynes and extend the lead to 6-1.
Lock Haven loaded the bases with no one out in the fifth but
Zach Herb got a strikeout and two flyouts to end the inning and keep the Bald Eagles off the scoreboard.
The Griffins added another three runs in the sixth. Winkleblech walked and later scored on an RBI groundout from Henne.
Owen Mandler walked and scored on a two run shot from Haynes.
Haynes and Fiedor each had two hits. Haynes drove in three.
Julian Minaya earned the win, allowing 0 earned runs in 4 innings.
Zach Herb earned the save with 3 scoreless innings.
The Griffins will travel to Morgantown, WV to take on Fairmont State on Tuesday afternoon in a single nine inning contest.
