Seton Hill opened their 2025 baseball season on the road in Aiken, SC with a single nine inning contest against USC Aiken.
The Griffins scored seven times in the middle innings and held the Pacers to just four hits in a 7-0 victory. SHU is now 1-0 on the season while USC Aiken falls to 2-5.
SHU scored twice in the fourth inning.
Owen Henne homered to open the inning and give the Griffins a 1-0 lead.
Brady McGuire singled with one out.
Mark Black drew a walk to put two runners on.
Matt Frazetta and Joe Fieldor each walked to force in a run and extend the lead to 2-0.
The Griffins added two more runs in the sixth.
Colin Ahr was hit by a pitch with one out.
Austyn Winkleblech drew a walk.
Jack Whalen reached on an error with Ahr and Winkleblech scoring on the play.
Seton Hill put the game away in the seventh inning. McGuire was hit by a pitch with one out. Black walked and Frazetta reached on an error. Ahr singled with Black scoring on an error. Fiedor then singled to score two runs and push the Griffins lead to 7-0.
Jon McCullough earned the win. He worked five innings, allowing two hits and striking out six.
Luke Deschenes earned the save working the final four innings. He allowed just two hits and struck out five. Fiedor, McGuire and Ahr each had two hits for the Griffins. Fiedor drove in three runs.
SHU will conclude the series on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 11 AM.
