Seton Hill hosted Chestnut Hill in their home opener and battle of the Griffins on Saturday afternoon.
Seton Hill jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead and cruised to an 11-2 victory over Chestnut Hill. SHU is now 3-0 on the season.
Just over two minutes into the first period,
Kaden Granberg gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later,
Carter Green extended the lead to 2-0. Green's second gave SHU a 3-0 lead with 4:01 to play.
Braedan Lockyer made it 4-0 with a goal late in the first quarter.
There was only one goal in the second quarter as
Vincent Cogliandro extended the SHU lead to 5-0.
Connor Zostant opened the scoring in the second half for the Griffins.
Peyton Gensler made it 7-0 with a goal at the 10:48 mark of the third quarter. Chestnut Hill scored with just over five minutes to play in the quarter.
Zostant opened the fourth quarter scoring less than three minutes into the quarter. Lockyer scored a man up goal with 8:34 to play. Granberg and
Wade Brunelle closed out the scoring for the Griffins.
Seton Hill outshot Chestnut Hill 42-20. Shots on goal were 25-9 in favor of Seton Hill.
Zostant, Lockyer, Green and Granberg each scored twice. Zostant added three assists. Cogliandro added a goal and assist.
Will Cody recorded seven saves in cage.
SHU will travel to UIndy next Saturday.
