The Griffins returned to G-MAC play on Saturday evening under the lights in Painesville, OH with a matchup with Lake Erie.
Seton Hill scored five of the final six goals of the contest as they defeated the Storm by a 13-10 score. SHU is now 3-0 in the G-MAC and 7-3 overall and won four in a row.
Lake Erie jumped on the Griffins, scoring the first two goals of the contest, as they took a quick 2-0 lead just two minutes into the contest. SHU bounced back with two goals of their own as
Carter Green made it 2-1 with 11:42 to play.
Jeremy Sforzo tied the score at two with a goal with 9:08 left.
Demetri Yerou scored to give the Griffins a 3-2 lead and
Mark Strunk followed by winning the faceoff and going right down the field to give SHU a 4-2 lead with just over four minutes to play. Late in the quarter,
Andy Davis scored a man up goal to push the SHU advantage to 5-2.
Kage Williams started the Griffins off in the second quarter with a goal at the 11:24 mark. Davis answered a Storm goal as SHU led 7-3 with 5:22 to play before the half. Davis scored his third of the game at the 3:04 mark as the Griffins increased their lead to 8-3. Lake Erie scored the final goal of the half as SHU led 8-4.
The Storm opened the second half scoring the first two goals as they cut the SHU lead to 8-6 with 13 minutes left in the third. Lake Erie scored the next three goals as they took a 9-8 lead midway through the quarter.
Aidan McLaughlin tied the score at nine with a goal at the 5:14 mark.
Kaden Granberg put the Griffins back in the lead with a goal at the 3:03 mark.
Jeremy Sforzo scored less than a minute into the fourth quarter as the Griffins extended their lead to 11-9. Granberg added a man up goal to push the lead to three. The Storm answered back with a goal but
Vincent Cogliandro gave SHU a 13-10 lead with 7:33 to play.
Davis led SHU with 3 goals and 3 assists. Granberg and Sforzo added two goals.
Connor Zostant added two assists.
Josh Miller earned the win with eight saves.
The Griffins will travel to Wheeling next Saturday afternoon for another G-MAC contest.
