The Griffin men made the long trip to Dobbs Ferry, NY for a matchup between two of the top teams in Division II as they took on #5 Mercy.

Mercy used a 7-1 run in the third and fourth quarters to defeat the Griffins by a 18-15 score. SHU is now 2-2 on the season.Â

Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead at the 12:29 mark on a goal from
Jeremy Sforzo. After Mercy scored twice,
Andy Davis tied the score at two with 7:19 left in the quarter. The Mavs scored the next two before
Vincent Cogliandro scored with 1:07 to play in the quarter.Â

Grady Arnold tied the score at four with a goal with 12:57 remaining before the half. Mercyh built their lead to 9-5 before goals from Sforzo and
Peyton Gensler cut the lead to 9-7 with 2:11 to play in the half.Â

Mercy scored the first two goals of the second half to push their lead back to four.Â

Connor Zostant and Gensler then scored three straight to cut the lead to 11-10 with 6:39 to play in the quarter. Mercy scored the next four before Gensler ended the scoring in the third quarter as SHU trailed 15-11.Â

The Mavs scored the final two goals of the fourth quarter as they extended their lead to 17-11. They built their lead to 18-11 before the Griffins scored the final four goals of the contest.Â

Sforzo led the Griffins with four goals and an assist. Gensler added three goals and two assists. Zostant and Cogliandro finished with two goals.
