Seton Hill made the long trip to Mount Olive, NC for a non conference matchup with Mt Olive on Saturday afternoon.
A late rally for the Griffins in the fourth quarter came up short as the Griffins fell by the score of 8-6 to the Trojans. SHU is now 3-3 on the season.
Mount Olive opened the scoring less than two minutes into the contest as they took a 1-0 lead.
Connor Zostant tied the score at one with a goal at the ten minute mark. The Trojans scored the final goal of the quarter as they took a 2-1 lead.
The teams were scoreless for the first eleven minutes of the second quarter before the Trojans scored to take a 3-1 lead.
Jeremy Sforzo scored a man up goal as SHU cut the lead to 3-2 at the halftime break.
Mount Olive scored all three goals in the third quarter as they built a 6-2 lead heading to the fourth.
Carter Green opened the scoring in the fourth quarter for the Griffins. Mount Olive answered with a man up goal with 9:42 to play as they took a 7-3 lead. SHU responded with three straight as they cut the lead to 7-6 with 2:57 to play.
Kaden Granberg scored twice and Sforzo scored the final SHU goal. The Trojans put the game away with a goal with 40 seconds to play.
Granberg and Sforzo each scored twice.
SHU will host Malone on Wednesday in a G-MAC contest.
