Seton Hill and #20 Florida Tech met on Saturday evening in a neutral site contest at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.
The Griffins were outscored 9-2 in the middle two quarters as Florida Tech defeated the Griffins by a 14-6 score. SHU falls to 3-3 overall while Florida Tech improves to 3-2 on the season. Â
Florida Tech scored the first two goals of the game to take a 2-0 lead over the Griffins midway through the first quarter.Â
Colin Socker scored with 5:42 to play in the quarter to cut the lead in half. Â
The second quarter belonged to Florida Tech as they outscored the Griffins by a 4-0 margin to build a 6-1 halftime lead. Â
The Panthers scored the first two goals of the third quarter as they extended their lead to 8-1.Â
Andy Davis scored with 7:17 left in the third to cut the lead to 8-2.Â
Peyton Gensler scored with three seconds left as SHU trailed 11-3 after three quarters of play. Â
Layne Harich scored the first Griffin goal of the fourth quarter and Gensler scored the final two for SHU.
Gensler led the Griffins with three goals. Davis and Harich each added a goal and an assist.Â
Josh Miller made 13 saves in cage.
SHU will next host Mt Olive next Saturday afternoon.Â
