After opening the season with four non-conference opponents, Seton Hill began G-MAC play on Tuesday when they hosted Wheeling in the league opener for both sides. The Griffins scored the first seven goals of the game and continued to roll in scoring a 22-5 victory over the Cardinals.

It was all Seton Hill (3-2, 1-0) from the start, as they scored their first goal 2:34 into the game when Peyton Gensler struck for his third goal of the year. After Layne Harich made it 2-0 with a goal seven minutes into the quarter, Gensler picked up his second point when he assisted on Thomas Hanulak's initial goal of the day. The Griffins added two more scores, one coming from Andy Davis and another from Hanulak, for a 5-0 SHU advantage after one period.

The Griffin lead expanded to 7-0 with a pair of goals just 46 seconds apart in the second, the first coming from David St Clair and the other coming from Harich off an assist from Zack Estabrooks. Wheeling (0-5, 0-1) posted their first score at the 10:24 mark, but Harich notched his fourth of the day at 9:13. The Cardinals struck for their second goal near the midway point of the quarter, but the Griffins used a four-goal barrage to close the first half with a 12-2 lead. Hanulak scored the initial tally of the run off a pass from Noah VandeWater. The final goals came from Estabrooks and two more from Harich to complete his five-goal day.

The Griffins would post a 5-2 advantage in the third quarter with some fresh faces getting some time. Gensler and Davis scored their second goals of the day and McGarity Harper also found the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season. Also scoring their first goals of the year for Seton Hill in the period were Grady Arnold and Brian Fehr.

Seton Hill closed the game with another five-spot in the fourth quarter. Vincent Cogliandro struck for a pair of tallies, while Jeremy Sforzo, Sam Latorre and Colin Socker added one each to complete the victory.

The day finished with 13 different Griffins scoring goals, led by Hanich's five. Hanulak had three goals and one assist, while Gensler totaled three points with two goals and one helper. Davis and Cogliandro both had two goals and picking up one goal and one assist each was St. Clair, Estabrooks and Harper.

Seton Hill was also able to play three different goalies, with Josh Miller starting and earning the win after making one save in nearly 20 minutes. Kevin Mo logged three saves in more than 27 minutes of action and Piers McGinn had one stop in just under 13 minutes.

The Griffins go out on the road for their next game, traveling to Sparks, Md, the home of USA Lacrosse. Seton Hill will take on Florida Tech in a neutral site game under the lights at Tierney Field, with the opening face-off scheduled for 6:30 pm
