After seeing their contest at Georgian Court postponed on Saturday afternoon, the Griffins made the trip down I-70 to Wheeling to meet the Cardinals in G-MAC action on Sunday afternoon.
The Griffins jumped out to a 16-1 halftime lead and cruised to a 25-5 victory over the Cardinals. SHU is now 4-1 overall and 2-1 in G-MAC action. Eighteen different Griffins scored in the win.
SHU came out of the gates fast scoring four goals in the first two minutes.
Zack Estabrooks, Robert Hofeth and
Thomas Hanulak scored in the first minute while
Albert Hammer scored with 13:20 to play to give SHU a 4-0 lead. SHU extended its lead to 8-0 before the Cardinals scored their first goal of the game. SHU led 9-1 after the first quarter of action.
The second quarter was all Seton Hill as the Griffins outscored the Cardinals by a 7-0 margin.
Peyton Gensler scored twice and five other Griffins scored single goals in the quarter.
Gensler scored the first two goals of the second half as SHU built an 18-1 lead.
Jeremy Sforzo and
Michael Malloy added goals as SHU extended its lead to 20-1 with 7:38 to play in the third period. SHU led 21-2 after the third period of play.
Brian Fehr,
Grady Arnold,
Noah Bussard and
Brock Schneider scored for the Griffins in the fourth quarter.
Gensler led the Griffins with five goals. Hofseth, Estabrooks and
McGarity Harper each added two goals.
SHU will take a break from G-MAC play as they travel to Frostburg State for a noon start on Friday afternoon.
