The Griffins made the long trip up I-79 to Erie, PA for a PSAC West matchup with Mercyhurst under the lights on Saturday evening.
The Lakers scored in the 21st minute of the contest and held on for a 1-0 victory over the Griffins. SHU falls to 3-4 overall and 3-2 in PSAC West play while the Lakers improve to 3-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in PSAC West play.
Seton Hill got three saves from
Elyza Pilatowski-Herzing in the first twenty minutes of the contest. Mercyhurst was able to get on the scoreboard with a goal just over twenty minutes into the first half. Mercyhurst outshot the Griffins by a 16-5 margin in the first half. SHU did hold a 3-2 advantage in corners. Pilatowski-Herzing made 5 saves in the half.
The second half was alot tighter but the Griffins just could not find the game tying goal. The Griffins held an 11-10 advantage in shots. Pilatowski-Herzing made 4 saves in the second half.
Pilatowski-Herzing finished with 9 saves.
Italia Biondi led the Griffins with 7 shots.
Amy Lynch added five.
SHU will continue PSAC West play on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Indiana (PA).
