// HOW IT HAPPENED
•  Jay Scerbo set the tone of the game by winning the opening Face Off and racing down to find Bennett Johnson for the opening goal of the game just seven seconds into play. After a Mercyhurst goal tied the game at 1-1, SHU would score the next five. Logan Maloni's goal at 11:29 in the first started off the run followed by two-in-a-row from Bennett Johnson to give SHU a 4-1 lead heading into the second quarter. SHU picked up where they left off when Johnson scored again at 13:13 to make it 5-1, and Robert Hofseth's goal at 9:30 capped the run to push the lead out to 6-1. The Lakers would respond with a run of their own, scoring four out of the next five goals of the game to cut the SHU advantage to just two, 7-5, with 9:51 remaining in the 3rd. However, goals from Zack Estabrooks (2), Collin Mitchell, Scerbo, and Ryan Manbeck gave Seton Hill their largest lead of the game, 12-6, with 7:30 showing on the 4th quarter clock. Merychurst would go on to outscore Seton Hill, 5-1, but the damage had already been done as the Griffins held on for the 13-11 win.
