GREENSBURG, PA. - Redshirt freshman attacker McGarity Harper scored three of the team's nine goals in the fourth quarter to propel the Seton Hill University Griffins past Walsh in Great Midwest Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action on Tuesday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
// NOTABLES
• Seton Hill improves to 10-3 on the year, while Walsh slips to 3-9.
• With the win, Seton Hill has earned the right to host the 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament for the second time in consecutive years.
• The Griffins have earned double-digit wins in each of their last four seasons.
// SHU LEADERS
• Robert Hofseth and Dan Rupert led the way with four goals apiece. McGarity Harper had three, while John Miller and Tyler Zameroski both had two goals. Jay Scerbo, Logan Maloni, David St Clair, and Zack Estabrooks each chipped in a goal.
• Ryan Manbeck dished three assists.
• Max Eismann grabbed 14 saves in the win. Kevin Mo did not register a save, but did not allow a goal in relief of Eismann.
// HOW IT HAPPENED
• Clinging to a 7-5 lead with 5:08 remaining in the third, the Griffins' defense clamped down and the offense exploded for 12 unanswered goals to blow past Walsh, 19-5.
// NEXT UP
• SHU closes out G-MAC play when they host Davis & Elkins College on Saturday for Senior Day. The start time for the game is set for 2:30, but seniors will be honored before the game along with the SHU women's lacrosse seniors.
