Men's Lax Rolls to Fifth Straight Win

The Griffins made the trip to Painesville, OH to take on Lake Erie under the lights on Saturday evening.  SHU was able to extend its winning streak to five games with an 18-11 road win.  SHU is now 9-3 overall and 4-0 in G-MAC action.

Seton Hill jumped out to a 6-2 lead over the Storm after the first quarter of play.  SHU took a 2-0 lead on goals from Zack Estabrooks and Robert Hofseth less than four minutes into the contest.  Bennett Johnson's first goal of the game was sandwiched between two Storm goals and gave SHU a 3-2 lead midway thru the quarter.  Logan Maloni, Ryan Manbeck and John Miller closed out the scoring for the Griffins in the quarter. 

After the Storm opened the scoring in the second quarter, the Griffins answered with four straight goals to take a 10-3 lead with 5:43 to play in the half.  Johnson, Hofseth, Maloni and Manbeck scored the goals.  Goals from Collin Mitchell and Jay Scerbo closed out the scoring and SHU led 12-5 at the half. 

The third quarter belonged to the Storm as they outscored the Griffins by a 4-1 margin to trim the lead to 13-9 after three quarters of action. 

Just 1:05 into the fourth quarter, Manbeck extended the lead back to five at 14-9.  Lake Erie answered before Hofseth and Estabrooks scored to push the lead to 16-10 with five minutes to play in the contest.  Miller and Maloni scored the final two goals for the Griffins.

Ryan Manbeck led the offense with 4 goals and an assist. Logan Maloni added 3 goals and 2 assists. Bennett Johnson with 2 goals and 2 assists. Zack Estabrooks with 2 goals and an assist. Max Eismann finished with 10 saves.

SHU will host Walsh on Tuesday afternoon in another G-MAC contest.
