Seton Hill closed out the first round of PSAC West action as they hosted Edinboro at Dick's Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The teams played a scoreless first half but the Scots scored twice in the second half for a 2-0 win over the Griffins. The Scots improve to 7-2-1 overall and 7-0-1 in PSAC West play. SHU falls to 4-6 overall and 4-4 in PSAC West play.Â
The first half of the contest was played evenly with each team having a few scoring chances but both keepers were up to the challenge. Edinboro led in shots by a 10-8 margin.Â
Elyza Pilatowski-Herzing made four saves in the first half while the Scots had five.Â
The Scots got on the scoreboard just over four minutes into the second half as they took a 1-0 lead. With less than 28 minutes to play in the second half, the Scots were able to double their lead to 2-0.Â
Pilatowski-Herzing finished the contest with 11 saves. Both
Italia Biondi and
Brady Tramuta each had two shots on goal for the Griffins.Â
SHU will begin the second round of PSAC West play next Wednesday when they travel to Gannon.Â
