Seton Hill Gets Key PSAC West Road Win

Seton Hill made the short trip to Johnstown for a PSAC West matchup with Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday afternoon.

The Griffins scored twice in just over two minutes in the second half for an important PSAC West road victory by the score of 2-0.  SHU improves to 6-7 overall and 6-5 in PSAC West play.  UPJ drops to 4-10 overall and 3-9 in PSAC West play.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half.  The Griffins peppered the Mountain Cat goal in the first half but could just not beat the UPJ keeper.  SHU led in shots in the half 10-5 with six shots being on frame.  UPJ had five corner kicks to four for the Griffins.

Seton Hill continued to pepper the UPJ net in the second half.  SHU outshot the Mountain Cats 13-7 in the half.

The Griffins got on the scoreboard with just over ten minutes to play in regulation.  Alyssa Neast finished off a rebound off a cross to put the Griffins in front 1-0.  Just over a minute later, Italia Biondi scored on a penalty kick to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead.

Elyza Pilatowski-Herzing posted the shutout in net, recording three saves.  Biondi led the Griffins with four shots on goal.  Amy Lynch added three shots on goal.  Sammantha Jackson, Neast, Katie Kimmich and Alexis Garia each added two.

SHU will continue the road trip on Saturday when they travel to Clarion.
