Seton Hill made the short trip down I-70 to Washington, PA and Wild Things Park to take on California (PA) in a key PSAC West doubleheader. SHU scored seven times in the first inning of game one in route to a 15-3 win in game one. The Griffins completed the sweep with a 7-2 win in game two. SHU is now 13-16 on the season and 7-7 in PSAC West play.
The Griffins jumped all over the Vulcans in the top of the first inning, scoring seven times to take a 7-0 lead.
Tyler Sullivan led off the inning with a double.
Chris Law walked and
Colton Carney reached on an error to load the bases.
Mark Colella singled to give SHU a 1-0 lead.
Jordan Fiedor walked to force in a run then
Garret Vrbanic hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.
Adam Bankovich was hit by a pitch to force in a run and then Sullivan cleared the bases with a double to the right center field gap to make it 7-0.
Andrew Chuba hit a line drive past the shortstop in the second inning to make the score 8-0, driving in
Tom McCarthy. SHU continued to add on in the third inning when Colella doubled to drive in Carney and increase the lead to 9-0.
SHU added five more runs in the fourth inning. Bankovich, Sullivan and McCarthy drove in a run while Law added two RBIs.
Tyler Sullivan went 4-5 with 3 doubles and 4 RBI in game one.

Perry DellaValle gets win with 5 shutout innings while striking out five.
SHU scored three times in the first inning of game two thanks to two long balls. Law hit a solo shot with one out and McCarthy added a two run shot later in the inning.
The Griffins extended their lead to 5-0 in the third inning on a two run bomb from Colella. Cal got one run back in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 5-1.
SHU got that run back in the sixth when
Ryan Grieco tripled in McCarthy.
Colella led the Griffins with two hits.
Patrick Monteverde earned the win on the mound for the Griffins.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at Seton Hill in another PSAC West doubleheader.
