Seton Hill closed out its four game set with California (PA) with a home doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. SHU used the bat of
Carl Turner and the arms of
Jared Kollar,
Don McWreath and
Kenny Wells for a 2-0 win in game one. SHU took the doubleheader with a 7-4 win in game two. SHU is now 15-16 overall and 9-7 in PSAC West play.
SHU took advantage of a Vulcan error in the bottom of the second inning. With two outs,
Ryan Grieco reached on an error and stole second base. He scored on an
Adam Bankovich two out single to give SHU a 1-0 lead.
Carl Turner hit a solo shot in the third inning to give SHU a 2-0 lead.
Turner led the Griffins going 2-2. Kollar earned the win, going five innings. McWreath threw a scoreless sixth and Wells closed out the game with a scoreless seventh.
SHU took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game two.
Chris Law doubled and scored when
Jordan Fiedor singled.
The Griffins added two more runs in the second.
Jamie Wrabel singled with one out. He scored on a triple from
Tyler Sullivan. Sullivan then scored on a passed ball.
California got two runs in the top of the third inning to cut the lead to 3-2.
SHU scored twice in the fourth on a two run single from Sullivan. Fiedor then added an RBI single to push the lead to 6-2.
Mark Colella added an RBI single as well to extend the lead to 7-2 in the fourth.
Cal scored twice in the seventh before Wells retired the final hitter for the save.
Sullivan went 3-4 with 3 RBI. Fiedor and Colella each with 2 hits.

SHU will host Point Park on Tuesday afternoon.
