John Miller's OT Goal Propels SHU Past #16 Lynn University

GREENSBURG, Pa. - John Miller scored the game-winning goal with 30 seconds remaining in the first overtime period and the #11 Seton Hill University men's lacrosse team defeated #16 Lynn University (Fla.), 13-12, on a rainy afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.

The win moves Seton Hill to 3-2 overall. Lynn slips to 3-3 overall.

Seton Hill came out of the gates with a strong offensive effort, outscoring Lynn 5-1 in the first and 5-2 in the second to take a 10-3 lead into halftime. However, the Fighting Knights would flip the script in the second half by outscoring SHU 4-1 in the third and 5-1 in the fourth to tie the game at 12-12 and force overtime. In the overtime thread, Lynn controlled the opening face-off, but a Merritt Bailey save gave SHU the chance that they needed, and John Miller capitalized with just 30 seconds remaining on the clock to give Seton Hill the 13-12 victory. 

Jack Miller scored three goals to lead Seton Hill. Jack Moran, Bennett Johnson, and John Miller scored two apiece. Jay Scerbo, Adam Reimer, John Hofseth, and Riley Martin all had goals in the game.

Nick Howard led the offensive effort for Lynn University with three goals. Austin Jerhoff, Johnny Gavin, and Stephen Polsinelli put through two goals apiece. Dryden Brous, Mikey Urso, and Brian Kiel chipped in goals in the loss.

Merritt Bailey grabbed 18 saves in the net for Seton Hill. Collin McClelland had nine goals against and three saves while Mitchell Goode had six saves and four goals against for Lynn.

For the game, Lynn University outshot Seton Hill, 44-35, and 30-22 on-goal. SHU committed 17 turnovers compared to 15 for the Fighting Knights.
