The Griffins traveled to Charlotte, NC to take on Florida Tech in a non conference matchup.  SHU only managed three goals in a 5-3 loss.  SHU falls to 2-2 on the season.

Florida Tech scored two goals in the first quarter to take a 2-0 lead after one period of action.  Bennett Johnson scored with 14 minutes to play in the second quarterto cut the lead to 2-1.  Florida Tech added a goal before the half and took a 3-1 lead into the halftime break.

After a Florida Tech goal, Sean Stanners trimmed the lead to 4-2 with 11:31 to play in the third quarter.  Ryan Manbeck cut the lead to one at 4-3 with 12:25 to play in the fourth quarter.  The Panthers closed out the scoring with 30 seconds to play for a 5-3 final.

SHU will return to action next Saturday when they host Lynn University at 12 noon.
