Seton Hill closed out its trip to the Kutztown Duals with a pair of matchups on Saturday. SHU took on #23 Tiffin in their first match of the day before closing out the duals with a matchup with American International. SHU and Tiffin split the ten matches but Tiffin took advantage of three six point wins for a 24-19 win. The Griffins closed out the day with a 47-3 win over American International. SHU is now 6-6 in dual matches.
Alan Diltz continued his great wrestling with a win by fall (4:50) to open the match and give SHU the early 6-0 lead. Tiffin then took a 12-6 lead with three straight wins. SHU then went on a streak of their own, winning four straight matches.
Zach Voytek started off the streak with a 13-1 major decision win at 157 pounds.
Damon Greenwald followed with a 10-8 overtime victory at 165 pounds that gave SHU a 13-12 lead. The Griffins increased their lead to 19-12 with two more decision wins.
Zach Mattucci won 5-4 at 174 pounds and
Billy Bowlen picked up a 6-4 win at 184 pounds. Tiffin won the match with two wins by pinfall in the final two matches.
There were only five contested matches in the dual with American International with SHU winning four of them. Diltz (0:54),
Austin Shaw (2:37) and Bowlen (3:30) won by fall. Mattucci won by tech fall (18-2).
Seton Hill will return to action next Saturday when they host Shippensburg.
