DETROIT, Mich - The Seton Hill University women's volleyball team fell to Northwood University, 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-17), before deafeating West Virginia Welseyan College, 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-16), Saturday afternoon at the Wayne State Invitational in Detroit, Michigan.
Seton Hill now moves to 6-2 overall for the 2016 season.
In game one,
Maggie Murray and
Jillian Livorse led the offensive effort with five kills apiece.
Katie Wenson had four kills while Rahel Satira,
Cassie Hausfeld, Jessican Hanson, and Jessical Beal had three kills each.Wenson, Hausfled, and
Mary Baich had service aces in the match.
Hannah Moeller had at team-high 13 digs with Wenson adding 10 digs of her own.
Murray finished with 12 assists.
In game two, Hausfeld led the SHU attack with 13 kills. Satira and
Leah Bisignani had seven kills apiece, while Wenson and
Jenna Sassack each had five kills.
Katie Wenson finished with two service aces with Moeller adding one, respectively. Moeller had a team-high 13 digs and Wenson added 10.
Brynn Fleury finished with a team-high 17 assists in the match.
Seton Hill will take part in the Wheeling Jesuit University tournament next weekend, taking on West Liberty University on Friday, september 16th at 1:00 PM and then the University of Virginia at Wise at 5:00 PM. On Saturday, September 17th, the Griffins take on host Wheeling Jesuit at 9:00 am before battling Fairmont State University at 1:00 PM.
