Seton Hill hit the road for their first road dual match of the season on Friday night at Kutztown. SHU held a 13-6 lead with four matches left but dropped three of the final four matches, with the last being a default disqualification, in route to a 18-16 dual match loss. SHU falls to 1-1 in PSAC dual matches on the season.
The Griffins fell behind 3-0 after
Alan Diltz dropped an 8-3 decision at 125 pounds.
Tyler Kenney tied the match at 3 with a 9-7 decision victory at 133 pounds. #2 ranked
Joey Alessandro picked up a major decision win by an 11-1 score at 141 pounds. Alessandro's win gave SHU a 7-3 lead after three bouts.

Ty Lydic suffered a tough 2-1 decision loss at 149 pounds that cut the SHU lead to 7-6. SHU then picked up back to back decision wins by
Damon Greenwald and
Tanner Druck to increase the Griffins lead to 13-6. Greenwald won 9-7 at 157 pounds and Druck won 6-2 at 165 pounds. The Golden Bears followed with two decision wins at 174 and 184 pounds to trim the SHU lead to 13-12.
Jacob Temple increased the Griffins lead to 16-12 with a 5-3 decision win at 197 pounds.
That match set the stage for the final match of the night with Kutztown needing a major decision to tie the match. In the last minute of the third period of the match, the Griffins were called for excessive stalling and Kutztown was awarded the match by default. The Golden Bears got 6 points for the default win in the match.
The Griffins return to action next Saturday at the PSAC Championships held at Lock Haven University.
