Seton Hill hosted #4 Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday evening in the McKenna Center. The highly ranked Mountain Cats won eight of the ten matches for the 36-8 victory. SHU falls to 5-3 overall in dual matches and 2-3 in PSAC duals.
UPJ took a quick 12-0 lead over the Griffins with a win by fall and a forfeit victory. The Griffins were able to cut into the Cats lead with two victories.
Joseph Alessandro totally dominated his match and earned a tech fall victory. He won his match 16-0. That cut the UPJ lead to 12-5.
Ty Lydic then followed with a 9-2 win by decision to trim into the lead and cut the Cats advantage to 12-8. The Griffins also had two other close matches during the night.
Tanner Druck fell by a 4-1 score at 157 pounds and
Jacob Temple dropped a hard fought 2-1 decision at 197 pounds.
The Griffins will return to action on January 28th when they travel to Washington & Jefferson for a 7 PM match.
