Seton Hill hosted a tri meet on Sunday afternoon in the McKenna Center as Millersville and Ohio Valley made the trip to Greensburg for the matches. SHU opened the day going against Millersville. Seton Hill defeated the Marauders by a 22-15 score in the first match of the day. The Griffins completed the sweep with a 28-15 victory over Ohio Valley. SHU is now 3-1 in dual matches and 1-1 in PSAC matches.
Millersville took a 6-0 lead with a forfeit at 125 pounds.
Collin Dees cut the Marauders lead to 6-4 with a 15-3 major decision victory at 133 pounds.
Patrick Owens gave SHU a 7-6 lead with a 9-2 decision victory at 141 pounds. Millersville retook the lead with a 9-7 decision win at 149 pounds.
Zach Voytek put SHU back ahead with a 9-4 decision victory at 157 pounds.
Millersville retook a 12-10 lead with a 3-2 decision at 165 pounds.
Brett Smith picked up a win by fall at 1:59 to put SHU ahead 16-12 after the 174 pound match.
Christian Bosco extended the Griffins lead to 19-12 with an exciting 10-9 victory in which he got an escape late in the match for the win.
Morris Lawson extended the Griffin lead and guaranteed a Griffin win in the match with a 4-2 decision win at 197 pounds. Millersville picked up a 4-2 decision win in the heavyweight match.
The Griffins match with Ohio Valley started off with a no contest at the 125 pound weight class.
Collin Dees picked up an injury forfeit win in the 133 pound weight class to give SHU a 6-0 lead. Pat Owens then earned a major decision 10-0 victory at 141 pounds to give SHU the 10-0 lead. Three straight forfeits followed and SHU led 22-6.
Zach Voytek and
Ryan Walters each earned forfeit wins.
Brett Smith extended the Griffins lead with a win by fall at the 2:52 mark of the 174 pound match.
Seton Hill will continue with PSAC matches on Thursday evening when they host Shippensburg at 7 PM.
