Emma Simmers Named IWLCA All American

Junior Emma Simmers has closed out a spectacular season with one final award as she was just named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II All American Team as a second team selection.  Simmers becomes the first Seton Hill women's lacrosse player to earn an All American honor.  Earlier this season, Emma was named to the All South Region Team as a first team selection.  Emma was also named a first team All PSAC selection, becoming the first Griffin lacrosse player to earn that honor.  During her sophomore season, Emma was an All ECC selection.

Simmers led the Griffin offense with 61 goals and 81 points.  She has 20 assists on the season.  Emma also led the team with 80 draw controls and 63 ground balls.  Simmers scored 2 game winnners and added 35 caused turnovers.  Simmers led the PSAC in ground balls, was third in goals scored and was tied for fourth in points.

The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association has honored 48 student-athletes with a selection on the IWLCA Division II All-America teams for 2014. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American banquet on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge in King Prussia, Pa.
