The Griffin wrestling team was shorthanded on Saturday afternoon as they were forced to forfeit three matches to Division I Eastern Michigan. Eastern Michigan used the three forfeits and added three pinfalls to record a 40-11 victory over the Griffins.
Eastern Michigan jumped out to a quick 18-0 lead over the Griffins after two pinfalls and a forfeit in the first three matches.
Nick Nichols was able to get the Griffins on the scoreboard with a 6-4 decision victory at 149 pounds.
Adam Moranduzzo followed Nichols victory with a come from behind 5-4 decision victory at 157 pounds. Moranduzzo's victory cut the EMU lead to 18-6. After EMU took the 165 pound match,
Zach Benzio won his match at 174 pounds in dominating fashion. Benzio earned a 22-7 technical fall for the Griffins final victory.
Seton Hill will hit the road next Sunday for the Ashland Quad Meet. The Griffins will battle Belmont Abbey, East Stroudsburg and home standing Ashland.
