Seton Hill continued play in the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Classic with a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon in Allendale, MI. The Griffins played Post in the opening match and then took on host Grand Valley in the second match.
The Griffins swept Pace in the opening match of the day. SHU then reverse swept Grand Valley in the second match. SHU is now 5-2 overall.
SHU won the first set over Post by a 25-17 score. The Griffins took a 2-0 lead with a 25-21 second set win. SHU closed out the match with a 25-19 third set win.
Catie Flohr led the Griffins with 17 kills.
Maddie Stout added 10 kills and
Savannah Schwarz added 6.
Mallory Meinen finished with 36 assists. Flohr led the Griffins with 16 digs.
Kendyl Wagner added 12 and Stout finished with 10.
Seton Hill dropped the first two sets to Grand Valley by the scores of 25-15 and 25-10. The Griffins responded with a 25-23 win in the third set. SHU then forced a fifth set with a 27-25 fourth set win. The Griffins trailed 6-3 in the fifth set but used a 7-1 run to turn the set around and complete the reverse sweep with a 15-11 fifth set win.
Flohr led the Griffins with 16 kills.
Courtney Smith added 13 kills while
Emma Meurer added nine and Stout eight with Schwarz added seven.
Haley Reed led SHU with 43 assists. Wagner led the Griffins with 22 digs. Reed added 11.
SHU will play at home next weekend in the SHU Tournament.
