Seton Hill traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan and the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Classic with a pair of matches on Friday afternoon. The Griffins played Davenport in the opening match and then took on Saginaw. Valley in the second match.
The Griffins were swept by Davenport in the opening match of the day. SHU dropped the second match of the day in four sets to Saginaw Valley. SHU is now 3-2 overall.
Davenport won the first set by the score of 25-18. They won a tight second set by the score of 25-23. The Griffins dropped the third set by the score of 25-14.
Catie Flohr led the Griffins with 21 kills.
Courtney Smith added 8 kills.
Mallory Meinen finished with 34 assists.
Kendyl Wagner had 14 digs while Smith added 12 and
Maddie Stout finished with 11.
Seton Hill dropped the first two sets to Saginaw Valley by the scores of 25-20 and 25-17. The Griffins responded with a 25-22 win in the third set. Saginaw then won the match with a hard fought 26-24 fourth set win.
Flohr led the Griffins with 19 kills. Smith added 14 kills while
Emma Meurer added seven. Meinen added 39 assists. Wagner led the Griffins with 25 digs. Smith added 16, Flohr added 15 and Meinen finished with 14.
SHU continues play in the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Classic on Saturday with a matchup with Post and Grand Valley State.
