Seton Hill made the trip to Scranton for a PSAC Crossover matchup with Lackawanna on Saturday afternoon.
The Griffins scored 10 points in each half in route to a 20-10 victory over Lackawanna. SHU is now 1-2 on the season. Â
Both teams got off to slow starts offensively with the Griffins getting two interceptions from DeMario Manning and
Darius Patterson and a blocked punt from
Stephen Lindsay. The Griffins took a 7-0 lead on a 34 yard touchdown pass from
Boden St Marie to
Ryan Keith to put the Griffins in front with 4:46 left in the first quarter. SHU led 7-0 after one quarter of action. Â
Lackawanna tied the score at seven with a touchdown midway through the second quarter. The added a 26 yard field goal with just under three minutes to play to take a 10-7 lead.Â
Rayyan Bataineh kicked a 49 yard field goal with no time left on the clock to tie the score at 10 at the halftime break. Â
Bataineh hit a 42 yard field goal early in the third quarter to push the Griffin lead to 13-10. The Griffins carried a 13-10 lead into the fourth quarter. Â
Late in the fourth quarter,
Demetri Whitehead scored on a 39 yard touchdown run to extend the Griffins lead to 20-10. Â
St Marie threw for 109 yards and a touchdown.Â
Da'Shaun Williams rushed for 59 yards. Keith had three catches for 54 yards and a TD.Â
Keith Bourque led the defense with 11 tackles. Â
SHU will be off next week before opening PSAC West play at Indiana (PA) on September 26th. Â
