Seton Hill opened play in the 2026 PSAC Baseball Tournament with a matchup with Millersville at Jack Critchfield Park in Slippery Rock.
Millersville scored 16 runs in their final five at bats as they sent the Griffins home from the PSAC Tournament with a ten run rule victory, 16-4. SHU drops to 41-10 overall while Millersville improves to 34-16.
Sean Williams was able to work some magic and get out of two jams in the first two innings to strand five Marauders and keep the game scoreless.
The Griffins were able to get on the board in the bottom of the second inning.
Jakob Haynes tripled to lead off the inning and scored on an infield single from
Gage Wheaton.
Millersville was able to finally take advantage of base runners as they scored three times on a three run shot with two outs in the top of the third inning. SHU got one of those runs back in the bottom half of the third inning.
Nate Simon singled to lead off the inning. He moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Jack Whalen. Simon scored on a double down the left field line from
Brady McGuire.
The Marauders added on in the fourth inning, scoring four more times, all after two outs. Millersville used a no doubt three run homer and followed that with a solo shot to take a 7-2 lead over the Griffins. Millersville added a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning as they took a 9-2 lead over the Griffins. The Marauders added another solo shot, their fifth homer of the game as they built a 10-2 lead.
SHU got two of those runs back in the sixth on a no doubt two run homer to left field from
Nate Dorinsky. Millersville got those runs back with another homer, this one a two run shot as they took a 12-4 lead. The Marauders added four more runs as they took a 16-4 lead over the Griffins.
Haynes and McGuire led the Griffins with two hits. Dorinsky added a pair of RBIs.
SHU will now wait until late Sunday evening to see if they can hold on to one of the two top spots in the Atlantic Regional and host one of the two Atlantic Regionals next week.
