Softball Splits on the Road with the Rock

Seton Hill continued conference play as they traveled to Slippery Rock for a PSAC West doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

Slippery Rock shutout the Griffins, 2-0 in game one.  

The Rock used two walks, a single and RBI groundout to take a 1-0 lead over the Griffins in the first inning of game one.  Slippery Rock added a second run in the sixth inning on an RBI groundout.  

Shelby Telegdy had two hits for the Griffins in game one.  

The Rock used a triple and single to take a 1-0 lead over the Griffins in the third inning of game two.  

SHU tied the score at one in the top of the seventh inning.  Skylah Steban drew a leadoff walk.  She moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Rilie Moors.  Anna Kalkowski singled to put runners on first and third.  Steban scored on an RBI groundout from Abby Dejidas that tied the score at 1-1.  

The Griffins took a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh.  Danielle Terpack was hit by a pitch to start the inning.  Chloe Orecchio pinch ranand moved to second on a Steban single.  Both runners moved up on a passed ball.  Moors knocked in Orecchio with a sacrifice fly.  

Lacey Lynn earned the win with a complete game effort.  She allowed 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 4.  

The Griffins will continue PSAC West play as they travel to CalU next Friday afternoon.
