Seton Hill hosted Pitt Johnstown in the final two games of their four game PSAC West series on Saturday afternoon in Greensburg.
Game one was a special one for the Griffins as sophomore
Sean Williams threw a no hitter which was the 800th career win for head coach
Marc Marizzaldi. SHU won game one 7-0 and then completed the sweep with a 7-0 win in game two. SHU is now 29-7 overall and 16-0 in the west.
The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one.
Jack Whalen doubled, stole third and scored on an error as the Griffins took a 1-0 lead. SHU added two more in the third.
Brady Stone was hit by a pitch and later scored on an
Owen Henne two run homer.
Jakob Haynes drove in a run with a ground out in the fifth that gave the Griffins a 4-0 lead. Whalen knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly and Henne added a two RBI single as the Griffins took a 7-0 lead in the sixth.
Henne and
Heath Fetchik each had two hits for the Griffins. Williams earned his seventh win with the complete game. He struck out nine in the win.
SHU got on the board in the third inning of game two.
Gage Wheaton singled to lead off the inning.
Nate Simon doubled to score Wheaton and give SHU a 1-0 lead. Whalen followed with an RBI double to make it 2-0. Henne knocked in Whalen with a sacrifice fly.
Colin Ahr added an RBI single to put the Griffins in front 4-0.
The Griffins added three more in the fifth.
Brady McGuire walked and scored on a Henne single.
Michael Gregos followed with a two RBI single to make it 7-0.
Whalen had a pair of hits to lead SHU.
Jack Pletcher and
Christian Zilli combined on a one hitter in game two. Pletcher struck out nine in 5.2 innings. Zilli threw a perfect 1 1/3 innings.
SHU will travel to Point Park on Tuesday afternoon for a non conference matchup.
