Seton Hill concluded their Florida Spring Break trip with a non conference matchup with Minnesota State on Friday.
The Griffins took a 2-0 lead and never looked back in a 10-0, 7 inning win over Minnesota State. SHU is now 9-3 overall. Â
SHU did not take long to get on the scoreboard in the contest.Â
Brady Stone singled to lead off the bottom of the first and scored on a two run shot to left field from
Jack Whalen that put the Griffins in front 2-0 after two hitters. Â
The Griffins added four more unearned runs in the fourth.Â
Jakob Haynes reached on an error to start the inning. SHU then three more walks to force in run with a walk to
Nate Simon. Stone then cleared the bases with a 3 RBI triple that put the Griffins in front 6-0. Â
Seton Hill added a seventh run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from
Gage Wheaton. Â
SHU added two more runs in the sixth inning. Haynes drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and
Mason Metz drew a bases loaded walk. Â
Back to back doubles from
Gage Wheaton and
Nate Dorinsky ended the game in the seventh. Â
Stone goes 3-4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored to lead SHU.
Colin Ahr added two hits.
Luke Deschenes and
Sean Williams combined for the shutout. Deschenes struck out 5 and Williams struck out 3.
The Griffins will host Point Park on Wednesday in another non conference matchup. Â
