Seton Hill played their home opener on Tuesday afternoon as they hosted Glenville State in a non conference matchup.
SHU used three big innings as they defeated the Pioneers 13-2. SHU is now 10-3 overall and Glenville falls to 11-5.
The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the second on a leadoff bomb to left field from
Nate Dorinsky. SHU added three more in the third. With one out,
Colin Ahr singled. He scored on a two run shot to left center from
Jakob Haynes.
Gage Wheaton drew a walk and scored on a
Nate Simon RBI single which gave SHU a 4-0 lead.
SHU added five more runs in the fourth.
Jack Whalen knocked in a run with a double. Haynes added an RBI single. Wheaton drew a bases loaded walk.
Nate Simon knocked in a run with an RBI groundout.
Glenville scored a pair in the seventh to trim the SHU lead to 9-2. Haynes hit his second homer of the game to increase the SHU lead to 10-2 in the eighth.
Brady McGuire added two more runs with a single in the eighth.
Haynes led the Griffins with 3 hits, including two homers and 4 RBI. Ahr and Dorinsky each added two hits.
The Griffins will host Bloomsburg in a four game set on Saturday and Sunday in another non conference matchup.
