Wechtenhiser Strikes Out 13 as SHU Splits vs Bloom

Seton Hill hosted Bloomsburg in a PSAC Crossover doubleheader on Saturday afternoon in Greensburg, PA.  

Bloomsburg blew open a tight game with an 8 run seventh inning in a 10-3 game one win.    SHU responded with a 1-0 victory in game two to split the doubleheader.  SHU is now 11-4 pn the season.  

Bloomsburg used a pair of two out RBI singles to take a 2-0 lead over the Griffins in the fourth inning of game one.  

SHU got a run back in the fifth. With one out, Heath Fetchik doubled.  He later scored when Brady Stone reached on a fielders choice.  

Bloomsburg added eight insurance runs with some help from the Griffins.  They used two singles, three walks and two hit batters to score four times.  The final four runs came in on a grand slam as the Huskies took a 10-1 lead.  

SHU got a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI double from Brady Stone and an RBI single from Owen Henne.  

Fetchik had a pair of doubles in the loss.  

SHU took a 1-0 lead in game two on a solo homer from Nate Dorinsky in the bottom of the third inning.  

That lead held up as the Griffins held the Huskies off the scoreboard.  

Mark Wechtenhiser earned the win.  He went 7 innings, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 13 and walking none.  Zach Herb earned the save with two scoreless innings.  He struck out three. 

The four game series will continue with a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.
