The Griffin softball team returned to the field following a day off as they took on the University of Sioux Falls and SW Minnesota State on Thursday afternoon.

SHU dropped a pair of contest as they fell 7-2 to Sioux Falls and 5-1 to SW Minnesota State in a rain shortened 6 inning contest.  

Sioux Falls jumped out to a 7-0 lead over the Griffins in the first four innings of the contest.  The Griffins scored a pair of runs in the seventh.  Lacey Lynn drew a leadoff walk.  Pinch runner Rilie Moors moved to third on a double from Shelby Telegdy.  Skylah Steban scored Moors on a sacrifice bunt.  The final run scored on an error.  

The Mustangs scored a pair of runs in the top of the second inning.  SHU got one back in the bottom half of the third inning.  Steban singled to open the inning.  Kassidy Wittig walked and later scored on an error.  

SW Minnesota State added one in the fifth and two in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead. 

Dejidas led the Griffins with two hits.  

SHU will play Wayne State College and Wheeling on Friday afternoon.
