Seton Hill concluded play in Florida with a pair of games on Friday afternoon. SHU took on Wayne State in the first game then battled Wheeling in game two.
SHU dropped game one to Wayne State College by the score of 7-4.. They closed out the trip with a 4-1 win over Wheeling.
Wayne State scored three times in the first and added four more in the third for a 7-0 lead over the Griffins. SHU responded with a 4-1 win over Wheeling to close out the trip.
SHU scored twice in the fifth.
Abby Dejidas, who singled, later scored on a wild pitch.
Kassidy Wittig, who also singled, later scored on an
Abby Smearman RBI groundout. In the 6th,
Shelby Telegdy doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly from
McKenna DeUnger.
Maddie Miller scored the final run of the game on an RBI ground out from
Taylor Schmitt.
Wittig and Dejidas each had two hits in the contest.
The Griffins got on the scoreboard first in game two vs Wheeling. In the second inning,
Lacey Lynn and DeUnger drew walks. Dejidas singled to load the bases with two outs. Wittig followed with a bases clearing double to give SHU a 3-0 lead. Smearman followed with an RBI single to score Wittig.
Smearman, Schmitt and Dejidas each had two hits. Telegdy earned the win in the circle.
The Griffins will play in the WV Wesleyan Tournament in Salem, VA next weekend.
