Seton Hill opened their spring break trip with a matchup with Lenoir Rhyne in North Carolina on Monday afternoon.
The Griffins outscored Lenoir Rhyne 7-5 in the second half and scored an OT game winner as they earned a 13-12 win to open their spring break trip. SHU is now 3-1 on the season. Â
Goals from
Brooklyn Miller and
Ruby DePalma tied the score at two with 6:51 left in the first quarter. After a Lenoir Rhyne goal, DePalma and
Carley O'Mara scored to give SHU a 4-3 lead after one quarter of action. Â
The Bears scored four of the five goals in the second quarter as they took a 7-5 halftime lead. O'Mara scored the lone SHU goal in the period. Â
SHU scored all four goals in the third period as they took a 9-7 lead. The Griffins scored the final three goals in the last 1:32 of the quarter. DePalma,
Mya Hibsman,
Mila Udovicic and
Sydney Marusko scored for the Griffins. Â
Lenior Rhyne scored the first three of the fourth to take a 10-9 lead with 12:46 left. DePalma, Marusko and
Amara Forsyth answered as SHU took a 12-10 lead with 3:33 left. Lenior Rhyne tied the score with the final two goals of the fourth. Udovicic then scored the game winner with 1:33 left in the OT period. Â
DePalma led the Griffins with 4 goals. Udovicic added 2 goals and 7 assists.
The Griffins will travel to Wingate on Thursday. Â
