Seton Hill opened PSAC Tournament action on Monday evening as they hosted sixth seed Clarion in the first round of the PSAC Tournament.
The Griffins rallied from 8 points down with a 29-11 fourth quarter as they defeated Clarion by the score of 84-72. SHU is now 20-7 overall.
SHU scored the first four points of the contest and led for the first four minutes of the quarter. Clarion used a 5-0 run to take a 12-10 lead at the 5:22 mark. Clarion pushed their lead to six before the Griffins scored eight straight, five from
Monique Vincent, to take a 21-19 lead with 1:20 left in the first. The teams were tied at 23 after one quarter.
Three pointers from
Hailee Ford and Vincent gave SHU a 31-27 lead with 6:30 left in the half. Clarion responded and took a five point lead but the Griffins went into the half up 42-40 after a
Hallie Cowan layin.
Clarion outscored the Griffins 21-13 in the third quarter, taking a 61-53 lead before a layup from
Mia Kalich at the buzzer trimmed the lead to six.
The fourth quarter was all Seton Hill. The Griffins opened the quarter with a 10-0 run to take a 63-61 lead. Clarion tied the game at 66 with 3:27 to play but the Griffins scored the next 10 points to put the game away.
Helene Cowan opened the run with a three and Ford added five points in the run.
Ford carried the Griffins with a double double of 27 points and 13 rebounds. Kalich posted a double double of 14 points and 18 rebounds.

SHU will travel to Kutztown for a PSAC Quarterfinal on Wednesday evening.
