The Seton Hill women's basketball team hosted Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday evening in the McKenna Center in a PSAC West contest.
SHU outscored the Mountain Cats 29-7 in the second quarter as they cruised to a 74-62 victory over UPJ. SHU is now 18-7 overall and 14-5 in the PSAC.
After giving up the first three points of the contest, the Griffins answered back with the next ten as they led 10-3 with four minutes left in the first quarter.
Mia Kalich had four points in the run. SHU finished 8-8 from the free throw line over the final four minutes as they led 18-11 after one quarter of action.
UPJ trimmed the Griffins lead to 21-14 with seven minutes to play before the half. SHU then responded with a 10-0 run, the first six points coming from
Hallie Cowan on back to back three pointers. The Griffins also had a 12-0 run later in the quarter which extended their lead to 43-16 with 1:44 left in the half. A basket from Kalich gave SHU a 47-18 lead at the halftime break.

Hailee Ford added a basket as the Griffins took their largest lead of the game, 35, at 55-20 with 7:27 to play.
Hallie Cowan led the Griffins with a game high 18 points. Kalich posted a double double of 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Shaye Bailey finished with 12 points.
Helene Cowan added 11 points.
SHU will close out the regular season as they host Edinboro on Senior Day on Saturday. The winner of the Griffin and Edinboro contest earns the third seed out of the west for the PSAC Tournament. Both Edinboro and Seton Hill will host first round matchups on Monday evening.
