The Griffins concluded their three game set in Charleston, WV with a doubleheader with the Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon.
SHU took game one by a 7-1 score and completed the sweep with a 13-3 win in game two. SHU is now 5-1 on the season.
In the second of game one,
Mason Metz drew a two out walk and scored on a
Nate Simon double as SHU took a 1-0 lead.
Brady McGuire scored on a passed ball in the third.
The Griffins put up a four spot in the fifth.
Gage Wheaton was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Owen Mandler singled in two runs and Wheaton later scored on an error as the Griffins took a 6-0 lead. Wheaton doubled in
Jakob Haynes in the seventh for the final SHU run.
Ahr led the Griffins with two hits.
Sean Williams went five shutout innings, allowing just one hit. He struck out three.
Seton Hill scored four times in the first inning of game two.
Jack Whalen walked to lead off the game and scored on a Wheaton triple. Wheaton scored on a Haynes sacrifice fly.
Joe Fiedor singled in a run and
Nate Dorinsky and Fiedor executed a double steal to give SHU a 4-0 lead.
The Griffins added four more in the second. Ahr had an RBI double and
Owen Mandler added an RBI hit. Dorinsky hit a three run homer in the seventh to make it 11-2.
Owen Mandler added two more runs in the eight with a single.
Owen Mandler led the offense with three hits and three RBI. Wheaton added two hits.
SHU will return to action on March 1st in Florida for their spring break trip.
