Seton Hill began their 2026 season at the Glenville State Tournament with a pair of games on Friday afternoon. The Griffins took on D'Youville and Glenville State on the day.
The Griffins dropped the opener to D'Youville by the score of 3-1. SHU then dropped the second game of the day to Glenville State 11-7.
The Saints scored a single run in the top of the first and added two more in the second as they took a 3-0 lead over the Griffins.
SHU got one run back in the bottom of the seventh.
Kassidy Wittig singled with one out and scored on a double from
Shelby Telegdy.
Wittig had a pair of hits in the loss.
Glenville took a 2-0 lead over the Griffins in the bottom of the first inning. SHU cut the lead in their half in the third.
Abby Dejidas tripled to lead off the inning. She scored on a
Juliette Vybiral RBI groundout.
The Griffins tied the game at two in the fourth.
Amber Wilkes walked and later scored on a strikeout. The Pioneers got that run right back as they took a 3-2 lead after four.
SHU tied the score at three in the fifth. Wittig singled, stole second and scored on an
Anna Kalkowski RBI single. The Pioneers scored six times in the bottom of the fifth as they took a 9-3 lead.
SHU used an RBI single from Wittig, RBI double from Telegdy and two RBI single from Kalkowski to trim the lead to 9-7. Glenville scored twice in the sixth to increase their lead to 11-7.
Wittig and Kalkowski each had three hits. Telegdy and
Lily Reidy each added two hits.
The Griffins will play WV Wesleyan and WV State on Saturday in Glenville.
