Seton Hill closed out their three game set with Findlay in Wingate, NC on Monday evening with a single nine inning contest.
The Oilers scored six times in the seventh inning as they rallied for an 8-6 victory over the Griffins. SHU drops to 2-1 on the season.
The Griffins scored a run in the top of the first inning after
Brady McGuire walked, stole second and scored on a
Colin Ahr RBI single. SHU made it 2-0 with an RBI single from
Joe Fiedor in the second inning.
Findlay scored single runs in the third and sixth innings to tie the score at two. The Oilers then scored six times in the seventh inning on four hits as they took an 8-2 lead over the Griffins.
SHU tried to rally in the ninth but came up just short.
Jack Whalen reached on an error to open the inning.
Owen Henne singled to put two runners on. McGuire singled to drive in a run. Ahr knocked in another run to trim the lead to 8-4.
Owen Mandler singled to load the bases with no one out. The Oilers then got two strikeouts for the first two outs of the inning.
Michael Gregos was hit by a pitch and Fiedor drew a leadoff walk to make it 8-6. The Oilers got a strikeout looking to end the game.
Ahr led the offense with three hits and two RBI. McGuire and
Gage Wheaton each added two hits.
The Griffins will travel to Charleston (WV) this weekend for a three game series.
