Seton Hill continued their two game homestand with a PSAC West matchup with #6 Gannon on Saturday afternoon in the McKenna Center.
The Golden Knights defeated the Griffins by the score of 85-73. Gannon is now 22-2 overall and 15-1 in the PSAC. SHU drops to 13-11 overall and 7-9 in the PSAC.
The first five minutes of the contest featured five ties and three lead changes.
Camden Brewer's three pointer gave the Griffins an 11-10 lead with 15:34 left in the first half. After a Knights three,
Dean Simos tied the game at 13 with 15 minutes left. Gannon then went on a 10-0 run as they built a 23-13 lead with 10:57 left in the half. The Griffins then answered with an 11-0 run as they took a 24-23 lead with 7:03 left in the half. Simos scored 6 of the 11 points in the run.
Rashaad Williams put the Griffins back in front 29-28 with a three pointer with 3:54 to play. Gannon then closed the half with a 10-2 run as they took a 38-31 halftime lead.
The Knights opened the second half on an 11-3 run as they extended their lead to 49-34 with 16:13 left. A three pointer from Simos cut the lead back to single digits with 12:32 left in the half. Later in the half, Williams scored to trim the lead to single digits, 69-60 with 6:14 left. Gannon then put the game away with a 9-2 run that pushed their advantage to 78-62.
Brewer and Simos each scored 17 to lead the Griffins. Curtis finished with 16 points. Williams also reached double figures with 10.
The Griffins will travel to IUP on Wednesday evening.
