The Griffins concluded PSAC Crossover action as they hosted West Chester on Saturday afternoon in the McKenna Center.
Seton Hill ran their winning streak to nine as they defeated the Golden Rams by the score of 82-67. SHU is now 10-2 overall and 6-0 in PSAC action.
West Chester scored the opening four points of the first quarter as they took a 4-0 lead. The Griffins answered back with seven straight points as they took a 7-4 lead just three minutes into the contest. A layup from
Emma Fischer pushed the lead to 11-6 at the midpoint of the quarter. Five straight points from
Mia Kalich extended the lead to 20-12 at the 2:16 point of the quarter. SHU led 22-19 at the end of the first quarter.
The Rams hit a pair of three pointers to open the second quarter.
Hallie Cowan hit a three to tie the contest at 25.
Hailee Ford's layup with 4:23 left extended the Griffins lead to 34-29. A three pointer from
Hallie Cowan and a Fischer basket extended the Griffins lead to 39-32 with 2:16 left. SHU took a 43-42 lead into the halftime break.
West Chester took a 48-47 lead midway through the third quarter.
Helene Cowan answered with a three pointer to put the Griffins back in front 50-48 with 3:56 left in the third quarter. The Griffins led 57-52 at the end of the third quarter.
Ford scored four straight points and Kalich added a basket as the Griffins led 63-54 with 7:44 left in the fourth. Back to back three pointers from
Abby Mankins and
Hallie Cowan put the game away as SHU led 71-58 with four minutes to play.
Ford led the Griffins in scoring with 20 points. She also added seven rebounds.
Helene Cowan finished with 19 points.
Hallie Cowan added 18 points. Kalich posted another double double with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
SHU will begin PSAC West play on Wednesday evening as they travel to CalU.
