Seton Hill traveled north for a PSAC West matchup with Edinboro on Saturday afternoon.
Poor shooting and turnovers proved costly for the Griffins as they dropped the PSAC West contest 80-65 at Edinboro. SHU falls to 13-4 overall and 9-2 in the PSAC West. Edinboro is now 12-8 overall and 9-2 in the west.
Edinboro took an early 1-0 lead before the Griffins answered with six straight to take a 6-1 lead with 8:47 left in the first quarter.
Shaye Bailey's layup put the Griffins in front 8-5 with 6:44 to play. SHU would then hit seven free throws over the final 6:44 as they led 15-14 after one quarter of action.

Helene Cowan followed with a three before a
Mia Kalich bucket gave SHU a 22-16 lead with 6:46 to play in the first half. Kalich scored seven straight for the Griffins as they built a 27-20 lead midway thru the quarter. Edinboro then outscored the Griffins 18-10 over the final five minutes as they took a 38-37 lead over the Griffins at the halftime break.
Helene Cowan hit a three to open the third quarter scoring but the Scots scored the next six as they led 44-40 with 6:14 to play. Back to back baskets from Bailey, including a three point play gave the Griffins a 45-44 lead with 5:29 to play. Edinboro used a 9-2 run to take a 55-49 lead with 20 seconds left in the third.
Helene Cowan hit a free throw and Kalich scored to trim the lead to 55-53 at the end of the third.
The teams exchanged baskets over the first two minutes of the fourth quarter as Edinboro led 61-59 with 7:54 left in the fourth. A pair of Kalich free throws tied the score at 61 with 7:18 left. The Scots answered with thirteen straight to take a 74-61 lead with 1:18 left. Edinboro outscored the Griffins 21-6 over the final 8:05 of the contest.
The Griffins shot just 31% from the field and committed 29 turnovers in the contest. SHU went the final eight minutes of the contest without a made field goal.
Helene Cowan led the Griffins with 20 points. Bailey added 15 points. Kalich finished with a double double of 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Hallie Cowan added 10 points.
The Griffins will travel to Pitt Johnstown on Wednesday evening as they continue PSAC West action.
