Seton Hill returned to the court for the first time in 2026 as they hosted Kutztown in a PSAC Crossover on Friday afternoon in Greensburg.
The Griffins led from start to finish in a 77-62 victory over the Golden Bears. SHU is now 11-2 overall and 5-0 in PSAC action.
SHU built an early 9-4 lead after a three pointer from
Rashaad Williams just four minutes into the contest. A three point play from Williams and a basket from
Kedrick Curtis extended the lead to 20-10 at the twelve minute mark. The Griffins pushed their lead to 13 points after a three from Williams and a layup from
Gabe Gillespie with 6:30 to play. SHU took their largest lead of the half at 15 on a tip in from Gillespie with 4:50 to play in the half. Kutztown cut the Griffin lead to seven before a Gillespie basket gave SHU a 40-31 halftime lead.
Kutztown scored the first six points of the second half to cut the Griffin lead to 40-37.
Edir Ortiz hit a three to end the Bear run. The Griffin lead moved between three and five until
Brandon Coury hit a three to push the lead back to seven at 53-46 with 12 minutes to play in the second half. The Bears answered with five straight to cut the lead back to two points. Kutztown trailed 57-55 with 8:12 left but the Griffins responded with a 14-2 run as they extended their lead to 71-57 with 3:43 to play. Curtis scored the final eight points of the run.
Curtis and Williams each scored 20 points to lead the Griffins. Gillespie added 16 points and Ortiz finished with 14 points.
The Griffins will host West Chester on Saturday afternoon in another PSAC Crossover matchup.
