Seton Hill continued PSAC Crossover action on Saturday afternoon in West Chester in the home opener for the Rams.
West Chester jumped out to a 27-3 halftime advantage at the half and defeated the Griffins by the score of 34-16. SHU falls to 2-2 overall and the Rams improve to 2-1. Â
The Golden Rams took a 6-0 lead on their second possession of the contest at the 7:27 mark of the first quarter. SHU answered with a 35 yard field goal from 35 yards out as the Griffins cut the lead to 6-3 with 3:31 left in the quarter. West Chester extended their lead to 13-3 with 23 seconds to play in the first quarter. Â
West Chester scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter as they extended their lead to 27-3 at the halftime break. Â
SHU cut the lead to 27-9 in the third quarter on an 18 yard touchdown pass from
Boden St Marie to
Isaiah Cherry with 2:42 left in the third quarter. Â
The Griffins scored a late touchdown on a pass from
Hayden Teska to
Jayden Llanos for 18 yards with 26 seconds to play. Â
St Marie and Teska each had touchdown passes in the contest.Â
Ritchie McCormack and
D'Kairi Boone each had 11 tackles to lead the Griffins. Â
SHU will host IUP next weekend to open PSAC West play. Â
